Early Years Collective – Partnership Launch
Fife Gingerbread, The Cottage Family Centre and Home-Start are excited to share with you the launch of a new partnership approach to family support. We will be working to deliver a collaborative model of support to families as part of the recent Fife Council’s Services commissioning process, and will work together to fulfil the ambitions of the Early Years’ Service Brief (2a).
Over the coming weeks and months we will be introducing a new framework to integrate our approach in Fife, and our shared focus will be ensuring that families get the right support at the right time from the most appropriate early years’ service to meet their needs.
What is the eligibility criteria for families?
The Early Years Collective will engage with families living in Fife where there is a 0-8 year old living at home where there are identified wellbeing concerns surrounding the child(ren). It will be clearly identified that the family requires additional support and the Named Person supports the need for support from the Early Years Collective.
(Note: the Early Years Collective will offer support to families Fife wide, The Cottage Family Centre will extend their geographical reach to include the whole Kirkcaldy area.)
How will referrals be processed by the Collective?
Referrers will be asked to complete a shared referral form and each organisation will carefully triage referrals to ensure the eligibility criteria is met. Referrals will then be brought to a regular Allocations Meetings. In these meetings managers from the Collective will identify which organisation is best placed to meet the immediate needs of the family, and allocate responsibility for engaging the family.
What can families expect from the Early Years Collective?
Families can expect to be connected with the partner in the best position to meet their immediate needs. They will be treated with dignity and respect, listened to and services will be tailored to address their priorities.
Fife Gingerbread, The Cottage and Home-Start offer a broad range of support and each organisation has an excellent reputation, a wealth of experience and an enormous resource of staff/volunteers available to support families.
By pulling together to collaborate on service delivery we can offer families an enhanced model of whole family support. This is an exciting opportunity for the partnership, and we are looking forward to developing our approach and sharing learning.
