Employer Engagement

We will work collaboratively with employers in Fife to ensure that lone parents are recruited, trained, retained and valued as part of Fife’s workforce.

Who We Are

At Fife Gingerbread, we believe that lone parents are a valuable and talented workforce. In 2021, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation highlighted the urgent need for collective action to help lone parents access “high-quality, flexible, sustainable, and well-paid work.” Without this support, there is a risk of lone parents remaining “locked in poverty.” Our staff and volunteers engage, support, and empower lone parents through our initiatives and we believe that employers can too.

We have developed an Employer Engagement Strategy focused on building strong partnerships with employers in Fife. We are committed to helping Fife businesses to promotes Lone Parent Positive Workplaces, designed to meet the needs of this key child poverty priority group and enabling employers to connect with this amazing pool of untapped talent.
