AGM 2022 Award Winners!
Each year we take time at our AGM to recognise parents, staff, partners and volunteers to nominate who they feel have embodied the values of Fife Gingerbread. We are delighted to share some of our winners photos and stories below!
INCLUSIVE- Heather Lynch
Nominated by a Fife Gingerbread staff member, who recognises her strength-’Heather has overcome a significant number of challenging barriers on what has not been an easy journey. But throughout her darkest days, Heather has consistently shown her best qualities of having a big heart, looking out for others and trying to empower others to change their situations. Heather goes out of her way to introduce herself to new faces and make them feel included at groups. ‘
EMPOWERMENT- Gillian Ovenstone
Gillian was nominated by the Making it Work team, who wanted to highlight what she gives back and the journey she has been on.
‘Gillian and her family were referred into the Making it work for family team in early 2021. To begin with Gillian didn't trust services as she had, had previous bad experiences with services in the past so I knew it would take time to build trust with her. Over the last year the change I have seen in Gillian's confidence has been amazing. She has engaged with myself really well but has also been able to attend not only just school meetings but also meetings with other professional's and speak confidently within these meetings about the support she needs for her daughter. She has also attended day trips with the project with her children over the summer and has got involved in the activities She has done amazing and is continuing on her journey and I feel she needs a huge recognition for how far she and her family have come. :-)’
TRUST- Roz McAndrew
Nominated by a parent from our Starcatchers Group, where Roz is a member of the team- (this is so lovely!)
‘Roz has gone above and beyond to bond not only with my son but myself. She’s emotionally involved in my situations which makes me feel her help and advice comes from a place of love and honesty. She’s wiped my tears and my sons snot and she’s hyped me up on my small victories that usually go unseen. I look forward to each play session knowing she will be there, ready, in any form I need her whether that be a laugh or an offload. She reminds me of sunflowers, honey and all things yellow truly a great person. We love her.’
QUALITY- Julie McColl
Nominated by staff members - we are so proud to have you as a volunteer!
‘Julie has been volunteering for some time now across two projects and has made families feel really comfortable around her. She has also applied herself to learning more by taking part in some training opportunities. Julie is always honest about why she wants to volunteer and has a clear vision of her future - she's a great role model.’
