Family Approach

Empowering families to overcome barriers on their journey towards flexible, healthy and well paid employment.

In partnership with Citizens Advice and Rights Fife the Family Approach project offers whole family holistic support to overcome personal barriers, build confidence, reduce isolation and progress.

Who will we support?

  • Families with 3 or more children

  • Families where a parent or child has a disability

  • Families with a child under the age of 1

  • Families with a parent under the age of 25

  • Ethnic minority families

  • Lone parent families

……and live in any of the following ward areas:

  • Cardenden, Lochgelly and Benarty

  • Kirkcaldy Central or Kirkcaldy East

  • Methil, Buckhaven  and Wemyss

What will we do?

  • Build relationships through one-to-one support for parents including home visits

  • Provide holistic support through the ups and downs of family life

  • Facilitate family learning opportunities to bring families together through learning and play, including support to improve family relationships in the home

  • Help for families build their confidence, skills and become a part of their local community through a range of groupwork and activities

  • Support to families to connect with other agencies to address challenges such as housing and education

  • Employability support will be available when parents are ready for support on their journey towards word

  • Our Financial Inclusion Worker will support families with benefits, money management, income maximisation, budgeting and debt advice.
